MediaRig Encoder Updates

As of May 31, 2010, our MediaRig Encoder SD product has been retired. This page is maintained for existing customers for support purposes. MediaRig Encoder customers still under warranty or support contract may contact us via the MediaRig Support Request Form.

To verify your current MediaRig Encoder version:

From the tool bar in the MediaRig Encoder Application, click “Help” then “About”.

To obtain the latest versions:

Request your copy of the MediaRig Encoder application by completing our MediaRig Support Request Form. We will respond with an email that contains the download instructions for the latest version of the MediaRig Encoder Setup and Fero PCI Media Adapter Driver Installer.

To update your system:

Step 1: Save the MediaRig Encoder Setup and Fero PCI Media Adapter Driver Installer

Click on the “MediaRig Encoder 1.5” link located in your email. The will bring up the download dialog. Select a desired directory and click “Save”. Repeat for the Fero Driver Installer.

Step 2: Uninstall the current version of the MediaRig Encoder application.

From the “Start” menu, click “Control Panel” then “Add/Remove Programs”. Under “Currently installed programs”, select “Ligos MediaRig Encoder 1.x”, then click “Change/Remove”. Follow the directions in the dialogs to remove the existing version of the MediaRig Encoder.

Important: On the “Delete MediaRig Configuration” dialog, you will be asked if to delete preset configuration, the custom presets and the stored logos. If you select ‘Yes’, all custom data and the copy of your license file (mediarig.lic) that is located in the install directory will be permanently deleted. Do not answer ‘Yes’ to this question if you are uninstalling during an active encode and you want the encoder to come right back up with the active session.

Step 3: Uninstall the old version of the Fero Driver and install the new version.

Run the Fero Driver Installer that you downloaded. Follow the instructions in the dialogs until the driver installation is complete. You must re-boot the system to complete the installation.

Step 4: Install the updated version of the MediaRig Encoder.

Run the MediaRig Encoder setup that you downloaded Follow the instructions in the dialogs until the setup installation is complete. If you want to retain the custom data referenced above, it is necessary to install into the same directory as prior. On the “Setup Type” page, please select the appropriate type per your license agreement.
